Five Oaks Kennels is a family run business, total of four familiar people who will care for your dog during their stay. We have been running the kennels since 2003. We are conveniently found on the A38 between Worcester and Droitwich. The kennels are located within our home grounds and set in 2.5 acres of tranquil countryside. We have safe, comfortable and internally-heated, purpose built kennels that are ideal for dogs of all breeds, ages and sizes. We are licensed to board 38 dogs, using two kennel blocks offering 3 triple, 4 double and 21 single kennels. All kennels offer an inside resting/sleeping area and an outdoor roofed run.

Our Daily routine:
• Cleaning.
The day begins with the cleaning of internal and external sections of the kennels. At this time, the dogs are given the opportunity to go to the toilet. Clean water bowls replace the previous day’s and water is replenished throughout the day according to the dog’s needs. Bedding is checked and replaced if necessary. Removed bedding is washed.
• Feeding.
Breakfast is then prepared, with regard to owner’s specification. This is then distributed to the inside area of kennel where the dogs can graze over their food or consume immediately. Uneaten food is left down until the next feed and then thrown and replaced with fresh.
• Exercise
After a short rest period, exercising begins. Each dog is given at least 20 minutes in the exercise yards/field to explore, play, run or relax. Times are extended during quieter times, with fewer dogs staying. They are accompanied by a member of staff, who, using the information gained from the owner’s paperwork, will interact, and provide appropriate opportunities in tune with the dog. For example, ball play, treat hunt etc. Dogs from the same household are exercised together.
• Rest period
At lunch time the dogs are given quiet time. There are no comings and goings, as we are closed. They are provided with kennel enrichment toys/treats.
Further cleaning duties are carried out. We also find the dogs relax while the staff sit outside their kennel and read to them.
• Second exercise
Afternoon exercise is given, and opportunities varied. Again, each dog has at least 20 minutes with a member of staff.
• Evening feed
The evening feeds are prepared and distributed. All empty feed bowls are removed from kennels.
Any necessary cleaning of kennels is completed to ensure the dogs are in a clean non- cluttered environment and bedding is replenished if required.
• Evening checks
The dogs are checked at least every two hours until the kennels are locked for the night. The hatches are shut earlier in the winter months to keep the kennels warm, obviously they are open for longer periods in the warmer season. When locked for the night, all artificial lights are turned off. The background radio continues to play until around 9pm in the winter.

As we live on site, the dogs are constantly checked, and someone is on site 24/7.
Kennels and exercise areas are kept clean of mess throughout the day.
